Outline and Special Features

The motto for Josai University’s Special Program for Overseas Students: “Enjoy the benefits right away”

Foundation and Objective

The Special Program for Overseas Students began in April 1988 with 12 first-semester students.

The majority of students on the program, who come mainly from Asian countries, study Japanese Language and Culture while supporting themselves, and after graduation go on to pursue university and graduate programs such as those at Josai University and Josai International University. Also, since many students aspire to take up positions in Japanese companies after graduation, support for all manner of professional qualifications, such as IT skills, is offered as part of the program.

In this way, Josai University’s Special Program for Overseas Students aims to make a contribution to international goodwill and cultural exchange by nurturing overseas students with outstanding Japanese language ability and practical knowledge, and striving to fulfil all their curricular and extra-curricular needs.
