Year Josai University
1965 Founding of Josai University Educational Corporation approved. Mikio MIZUTA takes office as the first JU Chancellor. Josai University opens with a Department of Economics in the Faculty of Economics, and Departments of Mathematics and Chemistry in the Faculty of Science. Mikio MIZUTA takes office as first JU President.
1971 Department of Business Administration established in the Faculty of Economics.
1973 Faculty of Pharmaceutical Science established, with Departments of Pharmaceutical Science and Technochemistry.
1976 Seiko MIZUTA takes office as Chancellor of the university.
1977 Master's course in Pharmaceutical Science established in the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Science.
1978 Master's course in Economic Policy established in the Graduate School of Economics.
1979 Mizuta Museum opened. Doctoral course in Pharmaceutical Science established in the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Science.
1983 Josai Junior College For Women established, with Administration and Secretarial curricula in the Department of Business Administration and Japanese Literature and English Literature in the Department of Literature.
1985 Center for Inter-Cultural Studies and Education founded.
1987 Major courses in Japanese and English Literature established in the Women's Junior College.
1989 Major courses in Administration and Secretarial Services established in the Women's Junior College.
1990 Courses in Japanese Culture and Japanese Language established in the Japanese Studies Program
1998 Master's degree programs established in Mathematics in the Graduate School of Sciences and in Medical Pharmacy in the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
2001 Department of Medical Nutrition established in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Science. Courses in Management and Information Administration and in Contemporary Culture reorganized in the Women's Junior College.
