We educate key persons to open up possibilities in health care and welfare in the new era.
In recent years, medication in the field of medical care has been developing swiftly and growing highly complicated, while the requirements of nutritional care based on food science have been increasing sharply. Since it has become essential to ensure the safety of food, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals, there has recently been an urgent demand for pharmacists with the knowledge of nutritional sciences, national registered dietitians with the knowledge of pharmaceutical sciences, and engineers who are able to verify the safety of food, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals. In response to these current needs, we have established the Department of Clinical Dietetics and Human Nutrition, which is presently the only one of its kind in Japan. We are committed to educating students in cutting-edge pharmaceutics and dietetics to make them eminent pharmacists, qualified dieticians, and pharmaceutical engineers who will form the support and driving force of health care in the 21st century. Our basic philosophy lies in "fostering the sense of being part of the group of medical scientists" and "conducting student-oriented education
School of Pharmaceutical Sciences (6-year course)
We produce pharmacists who engage in health care from the viewpoint of ordinary citizens.
In accordance with the amendment of the School Education Law and the Pharmacist’s Law, the training curriculum for pharmacists was changed to a 6-year course of study effective April 2006. By drawing up a new curriculum, we aim to produce distinguished pharmacists who can fulfill the requirements of the new age, namely, "sophistication of medical care" and "advances in team medical care."
Department of Pharmaceutical Technochemistry (4-year course)
We guide engineers who are conscious of health care and daily life in industrial settings.

Department of Clinical Dietetics and Human Nutrition
We create experts who study dietetics for disease prevention and medical treatment.
The Department of Clinical Dietetics and Human Nutrition has been established for the first time in Japan in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences. In cooperation with other pharmaceutical departments, we can offer in-depth knowledge in dietetics and medicine that can serve useful purposes in disease prevention and medical treatment. We believe that the acquisition of such knowledge encourages students to become qualified dieticians who can assume the roles of nutritional counselors and management personnel at a variety of medical institutions.
Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences
We intend to reorganize the master’s and doctoral courses.

We are seeking to improve the system of education in graduate school for students who are interested in the pursuit of advanced studies. We are also planning to reorganize both the master’s and doctoral courses in order to respond to the change to a 6-year course of study in pharmaceutical sciences in Japan.
