城西大学水田美術館は、本学の創始者である水田三喜男先生が生前に蒐集された浮世絵コレクションを母胎として、1979年3月に開館いたしました。

　水田コレクションは、浮世絵を中心に200点余りからなり、浮世絵の発生期から近代日本画に至るまでその発展過程を所蔵作品によってたどることができます。また、稀版画を含む9点の写楽作品を所蔵しております。当美術館では、浮世絵を御鑑賞いただくとともに日本の文化の発展に寄与することを目的として、下記の期間中、特別公開をしております。

Mizuta Museum of Josai University was established in March 1979.The core of the museum's collection consists of Ukiyo-e assembled by Mr. Mikio Mizuta, founder of Josai University, during his lifetime.The collection includes over 200 works. We can trace the history of Ukiyo-e from its cradle to modern ages with those works.This museum also has nine extremely rare works by the woodblock artist Sharaku.The museum is opened to introduce some aspects of Japanese arts according to a schedule mentioned below.
